Navratri is a Hindu Festival. Its celebrate for 9nights in the respect of Durga Mata and her victory over Evil. In this 9 days, we learn about 9 forms of Durga Mata, keep fasts, doing prayers and each day holds the special meaning.
What is Navratri?
Navratri the words taken from Sanskrit, Nava means “nine” and Ratri means ” nights”. These Nine days are devoted to Durga Mata, and comes the 10th day, Which we know as Dussehra also called Vijayadashami.

9 form of Durga Maa
1) Shailputri Maa

- Who is the daughter of the king of Mountains.
- She is worshipped on the first day of Navratri this is the first form of Maa Parvati.
- In 2025, we will observe her fast and worship on the 22nd sep, and form that day Navratri will also begin.
- Offer red or white flowers to Maa Shailputri.
- Chant the mantra of maa Shailputri.
- Offering items made from milk such as Kheer, sweets and many other milk based delicacies should be presented as maa Shailputri is pleased with them.
- Wearing a white on the first day is considered good luck and pleasing to Maa Shailputri.
2) Brahmacharini Maa

- We worship her on the second day of Navratri.
- She is considered the second form of Maa Parvati.
- “Brahm” means Penance, Knowledge, and truth and “Charini” means the one who practices or follows.
- Offer Sandalwood, rice, and flowers to Maa Brahmacharini, and if the flowers are white it is considered even better as white flowers are very dear to her.
- Offer her sweets made from sugar as she is very fond of item prepared with sugar.
- Light a deep and perform the worship while chanting om Brahmacharini Namah.
- Wearing a blue on the second day is considered good luck and pleasing to Maa Brahmacharini.
3) Chandraghanta Maa

- We worship her on the third day of Navratri.
- She Considered the third form of Maa Parvati.
- On Maa Chandraghanta forehead, there is a bell-Shaped half moon, and that is way She is Called Chandraghanta maa.
- Offer yellow and white flowers.
- Offer her besan and motichoor Laddu and fruits.
- Light a Deep and perform the worship while chanting om Shreem Hreem Chandraghantayai Namah.
- Wearing a Yellow on the third day is considered good luck and pleasing to Maa Chandraghanta.
4) Kushmanda Maa

- We worship her on the forth day of Navratri.
- She Considered the forth form of Maa Parvati.
- In her hands, She holds a water pot (Kamandalu), bow, arrow, lotus, nectar pot (Amit kalash), discus (Chakkra) , and mace (Gada), and one hand is in the gesture of blessing.
- Offering yellow flowers to Maa Kushmanda is very dear to her.
- Offer besan or coconut laddu to the maa Kushmanda you also offer a sooji and wheat halwa.
- Light a Deep and perform the worship while chanting Om Kushmanda Namah.
- On such days, we should wear yellow clothes as this colour is very dear to the Kushmanda Maa.
5) Skandamata Maa

- We worship her on the Fifth day of Navratri.
- She Considered the Fifth form of Maa Parvati.
- Maa Skandmata the Mother of Lord Skanda/ Kartikeya.
- Offer a flowers, especially Lotus is very dear to her.
- Offer bananas as a prasad its very dear to Skandmata Maa.
- Light a Deep and perform the worship while chanting Om Skandamata Namah.
- On such days, we should wear yellow or white clothes both of this color is very dear to the Kushmanda Maa.
6) Katyayni Maa

- We worship her on the Sixth day of Navratri.
- She Considered the Sixth form of Maa Parvati.
- Offer a flowers, specially red and yellow color flowers is very dear to her.
- Offer honey as a prasad its very dear to Katyayni Maa.
